The dis­trict on the south and north banks of the Spree, con­sis­ting of Nie­der­schö­ne­wei­de and Ober­schö­ne­wei­de, sets the heart­beat. The Tech­no­lo­gy and Start-up Cent­re (TGS) and the new Inno­va­ti­on and Tech­no­lo­gy Cent­re for Digi­ta­liza­ti­on (ITZ) are the ide­al envi­ron­ment for boo­ming start-ups and for over 300 new com­pa­nies that have alre­a­dy sett­led here.

And alt­hough so much inno­va­ti­ve indus­try has sett­led in the dis­trict, you would­n’t know it by loo­king at Schö­ne­wei­de. The dis­trict and its imme­dia­te sur­roun­dings are cha­rac­te­ri­zed by num­e­rous green spaces and have a high recrea­tio­nal value.

Schö­ne­wei­de impres­ses with its exci­ting and rela­xing sur­roun­dings. The­re are various local recrea­ti­on are­as such as Wuhl­hei­de, Königs­hei­de and Plän­ter­wald in the imme­dia­te vici­ni­ty. Ber­lin is gree­ner than you think. And Nie­der­schö­ne­wei­de is no exception.

Inspi­ra­ti­on is not negle­c­ted here eit­her — after all, Ber­lin’s new crea­ti­ve indus­try loca­ti­on has been and is being crea­ted in the dis­trict. In Ober­schö­ne­wei­de, one of the lar­gest indus­tri­al monu­ments is being trans­for­med into a new, spec­ta­cu­lar art and cul­tu­ral cen­ter. Around 400 artists and crea­ti­ves are alre­a­dy at work here and regu­lar­ly orga­ni­ze art fes­ti­vals and joint exhibitions.

  • Around 5,000 m² are per­ma­nent­ly available in the Rein­beck­hal­len for various events and projects.
  • At Ate­lier­haus 79, 25 first-class stu­di­os offer a home to local and inter­na­tio­nal artists from a wide varie­ty of disciplines.
  • Around 100 artists work tog­e­ther in the KAOS crea­ti­ve community
