Aspiring. Innovative. Way ahead of the game. Schöneweide is one of Berlin’s select locations of the future. Consisting of Niederschöneweide and Oberschöneweide, the district on the south and north banks of the Spree is the heartbeat setting the pace. The Technology and Start-up Centre (TGS) and new Innovation and Technology Centre for Digitalisation (ITZ) are the ideal environment for booming start-ups and for over 300 new companies that have already settled here.

And though so much innovative industry has settled in the district, Schöneweide doesn’t look it. The district and its immediate surroundings are characterised by a large number of green areas and boast considerable recreational value.
GOOD NEIGHBOURHOOD
Schöneweide is impressive with its exciting and relaxing surroundings. A variety of recreational areas such as Wuhlheide, Königsheide and Plänterwald are located in the immediate vicinity. Berlin is greener than you think – and Niederschöneweide is no exception.
AN ABUNDANCE TO DISCOVER
There’s plenty of inspiration here as well – after all, the location of Berlin’s new creative industries originated in the district and continues to develop. In Oberschöneweide, one of the largest industrial monuments is being transformed into a new, spectacular art and cultural centre. Around 400 artists and creatives are already at work here and regularly organise art festivals and joint exhibitions.
- In the Reinbeckhallen event location there are ca. 5,000 m² continually available for various events and projects.
- In Atelierhaus 79, there are 25 first-rate ateliers that offer local and international artists a home for the most diverse forms of representation.
- There are around 100 artists who work together in the creative consortium KAOS
SHOPPING AND RECREATION
- The “ZENTRUM Schöneweide” shopping centre is in the immediate vicinity
- A sporting goods shop, furniture store and well-stocked supermarket are right next door
- Various restaurants and cafés are within walking distance
- The “Spreehöfe” cinema is within sight on the other side of the Spree
